At the Helm
Company founders Robert Moffett and Martin McVicar both have long and distinguished engineering pedigrees. Previously, Robert was a driving force behind Moffett Engineering, a name synonymous with the ground-breaking success of the ‘Moffett Mounty’ truck mounted forklift. Martin was a young prodigy who arrived at Moffett Engineering for a summer of work experience and went on to become the company’s chief engineer before he had even turned 20.
In 1998 these two passionate, experienced and driven engineers pooled their expertise and their shared vision to design the world’s first internal combustion engine powered, all wheel drive, multi-directional forklift – and the Combilift was born.
Under their astute guidance, Combilift has enjoyed unparalleled growth. A debt-free company, it is a major local employer and offers the most extensive range of specialist multidirectional and customised handling solutions available from any one single manufacturer in the world.
Never complacent, Martin and Robert remain as passionate about research and new product development as they were when Combilift first began 20 years ago.
