Training

All the students who successfully completed the Traineeship at Monaghan Institute in 2016/2017 were offered jobs in Combilift. It is expected that with the development of its new purpose-built factory more employment opportunities will be available to graduates of the course in 2018 and 2019.

CNC PLATE PROCESSOR OPERATOR

As a CNC Plate Processor Operator, you will be part of the machine shop team who manufacture various profiles using CNC drill / plasma machine holding precision tolerances.

 Responsibilities

  • Produce high precision components using a CNC Peddinghaus plate processor
  • Load and modify CNC programs
  • Set up tooling and cutting equipment accurately to the specified data supplied
  • setting of speeds and feeds to job package specification
  • Loading and off loading of mild steel materials using overhead gantries and forklifts
  • Carrying out detailed inspection of goods for compliance to drawings
  • Cleaning parts of slag and debris
  • Organising of components into designated area and adhering to our production schedule
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to all safety procedures
  • Achieving competitive cycle times and production targets
  • Maintain the machine and tooling and reordering of consumable and spares
  • Trouble shoot and repair faults to minimise downtime
  • Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping
  • Confer with other departments to determine the progress of work and completion targets
  • Work on hand with the machine shop team and report any issues to the machine shop manger

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in using a CNC machine and basic knowledge of computers
  • Detailed understanding of part drawings, dimensions and tolerances, and material speciation

CNC PLASMA NESTER / PRODUCTION SCHEDULER

CNC PLASMA NESTER / PRODUCTION SCHEDULER

We are seeking a CNC plasma nester / production scheduler to join our team. This position requires coordination of the flow of work and materials in the machine shop and between other departments as well as the need to identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

This position is responsible for creating nests for plasma cutting utilizing current software. Position is also responsible for verifying and creation of work schedules so that jobs are aligned to go through production in the machine shop in a timely fashion in order to meet delivery demands.

Responsibilities: Utilize nesting software and manufacturing experience to:

  1. Program nests on plasma tables utilizing automated nesting software.
  2. Optimization of sheet steel, with minimal drop where possible and applicable, and utilize those sheets that could not be fully optimised based on production requirements
  3. Review drawing requirements and identify special requirements or possible manufacturing concerns
  4. Determine if the item aligns with the inhouse manufacturing capabilities and production scopes.
  5. Identify missing information and request the vital input needed to successfully produce accurate and high-quality parts
  6. Verify drawings are to scale, correct revision and fully dimensioned and compatible to the nesting software.
  7. Verify required tolerances and quantities are clear, and noted on documentation to assure capability and quantity of the end product
  8. Prepare nest reports and include the correct drawings for CNC plasma machines.
  9. Confer with other departments to determine progress of work and completion dates.
  10. Work on hand with the machine shop team and report to the machine shop manager on a daily basis

 

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience in production, planning or other related fields
  • Experience in using a Nesting software package
  • Experience in using AutoCad software, Microsoft excel, and outlook
  • Detailed understanding of part drawings, dimensions and tolerances, and material specification
  • Understanding of plasma and engineering equipment and fabrication capabilities
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to prioritize and multi task in a fast-paced environment

IT Administrator

As an IT administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining Combilift’s IT network, servers and security systems. This role is absolutely essential for ensuring business continuity.

You will be responsible for investigating and diagnosing network problems, collecting IT usage stats, making recommendations for improving Combilift’s IT systems and carrying out routine configuration and installation of IT solutions.  On a day to day basis, you will be called upon to help colleagues with more basic IT needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues
  • Install and manage client-based computers, laptops, printers and related hardware
  • Monitor the system daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns
  • Create and verify data backups
  • Respond to and resolve help desk requests
  • Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security
  • Maintain servers, upgrade, secure, system backups and disaster recovery preparation
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes
  • Setup user accounts and manage domain permissions
  • Maintain and update documentation of procedures and configurations
  • Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies

 

Skills:

  • 2+ years’ experience as an IT Administrator, System Administrator or similar role
  • BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience with VMware
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows operating systems
  • Proven experience with windows server, exchange, SQL, VEEAM, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems), firewall configuration (NAT, security policies, VPN’s) and data backup/recovery
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Trade Compliance Specialist

This role has arisen for an experienced Trade Compliance Specialist with Combilift, to assist with its expansion and continued rapid growth. 
The purpose of the role is to roll out AEO Certification, to ensure compliance with all regulations in relation to incoming and outgoing freight and the associated customs requirements. To ensure the AEO Guidelines are followed for packaging and shipment of all outgoing freight from the Global Headquarters in Monaghan including all ancillary duties associated with this.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Devise AEO implementation plan and roll out and point of contact for all Audits and update of records
  • Ensure continual compliance for AEO and known consignor certification and Audits
  • Lead Investigator - Ensure that the appropriate root cause analysis tools are used when leading investigations if applicable
  • Provide efficient and effective Customs Clearance Service
  • To ensure that all data sent to Revenue is fully accurate
  • Ensure quick resolution of all queries
  • Supports business-wide compliance of government regulations concerning import, trade agreements, and global operations
  • Liaison with internal departments as required
  • Conduct internal audits with regards to AEO requirements
  • Ensure compliance with Customs import and export regulations 
  • To maintain accurate and comprehensive records as needed
  • To ensure the IT system is updated with importers and exporter details and specific requests
  • To liaise with both internal and external customers and ensure all clearance queries and requests are resolved/followed through in a timely and effective manner
  • Trade compliance - VAT, duty, import & export
  • Communication of information to other departments/facilities relating to shipments
  • Preparation of documents for customs
  • Review courier performance and complete Quality Scorecards
  • Champion GDP through exports
  • Ad Hoc Projects

 

Key Skills and Experience Required:

  • 3+ years’ experience in dealing with Customs matters
  • Significant customs clearance process is essential
  • Knowledge of awareness of AEO is advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation and organisation skills
  • The ability to interpret large volumes of information
  • Computer and technical literacy will be essential
  • Enthusiastic approach and the ability to deal positively with pressure
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and administrative skills
  • Relevant IPICS, IIPMM or equivalent third level qualification
  • Good problem solver with strong negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of moving materials worldwide via air, road, sea and courier
  • Experience in shipping hazardous goods and knowledge of packaging procedures and inventory management.
