At Combilift, we are committed to empowering our customer’s sustainability efforts by providing them with environmental and economic value. All our material handling solutions have sustainability at their core, designed to maximise efficiency, storage capacity and improve safety. A core element in the Combilift ethos is to help customers increase storage without the need to expand the size of their facility, leading to reduced energy usage and associated costs such as heating, lighting and maintenance.

We produce versatile forklift technologies that can fulfil multiple roles, inside and out, reducing fleet size, thus reducing carbon footprint. The carbon footprint can be further reduced by using electric forklifts, and our diesel and LPG engines adhere to the strictest emissions and efficiency guidelines. In addition our solutions are over-engineered to expand the truck’s lifespan and reduce the costs associated with maintenance.

Sustainability
Green Production Process & Facilities
At Combilift, we ensure our manufacturing process is sustainable by using water-based paints to reduce harmful VOCs. We are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards for quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management. We also prioritise sustainable procurement, sourcing much of our materials from long-term Irish suppliers, supporting the local economy and minimising transport impacts.
We have been certified to international quality and safety management standards. Our production facility has been awarded ISO 9001 international quality management system, ISO 14001 Environment Management and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series.
We also strive to carry out sustainable procurement; a large proportion of our annual sourcing volume comes from suppliers in Ireland, many of whom have been with us since our inception in 1998, contributing to sustaining our local economy and reducing transport impacts.
30% of our roof space is covered in skylights, enabling staff to work in natural daylight with 173% more white light exposure creating better employee working conditions.

We use LED lighting with PIR sensor lights allowing for daylight dimming and areas of the factory not in use to be switched off automatically.

We are using a 1Mw Biomass boiler to reduce our LPG usage in our paint spraying booths and, in turn, generating a saving of 473,316kg of CO2.

We employ solar panels that provide 185kW of energy which generate 10% of our daily electricity usage.

We have a 110,000-litre rain water collection system is in operation, which is used in jet washing and our plant’s restroom facilities.

The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), established in 2015, ask for global action from governments and companies to provide a life of dignity and opportunity for all people while also protecting our planet. These 17 SDGs outline worldwide sustainable development objectives and ambitions for 2030 and are all supported by Combilift. 

At Combilift we provide a safe, healthy working environment for everyone. We aim to achieve zero injuries through initiatives such as our safety barriers separating our 600+ employees from moving vehicles and by encouraging our employees to submit routine safety observations through our “Good Catch” program.

We provide quality education and the opportunity to elevate the career potential of many through programs such as our fully funded OEM Engineering Technology Traineeship & Apprenticeship, preparing a large number of individuals for work as future Engineers or Technicians.
At Combilift, we work hard to help warehouses get the most out of their cube utilisation. We promote the optimisation of storage in developing resilient infrastructures and foster innovation to help our customers help improve their energy efficiency and reduce their CO2 emissions.
We strive to guarantee green procurement patterns through our supplier qualification process and ensure sustainable manufacturing practices at our state-of-the-art production facility. For example, by using water-based paints, we cut our VOC emissions by 73%.
Through our Global collaboration with Brazil, we deliver lifesaving equipment to multiple patients in developing countries with our Combi-Ventilate that converts one ventilator into several ventilation stations. As a result, we are ensuring everyone’s health and well-being during the Covid-19 crisis.

We understand that the most vital element contributing to our success is the welfare of our workforce. Therefore, we provide a wealth of training with upskilling programs and various health and wellbeing programs that enable continuous development within our team. As a testament to our investment in our employees, we have received the Deloitte Best Managed award for 8 consecutive years.
 
To facilitate our long-term sustainability, we are also committed to investing in the future workforce. We offer apprenticeship and traineeship programs that enable students to study engineering in a practical setting and achieve qualifications while they earn a wage. We not only promote a culture of safety, respect and empowerment among our workers, but we also remain committed to the wider community. From supporting charitable initiatives to sponsoring our local Ladies GAA team, we are proud of our ingrained position in our community.
