BSS Industrial’s National Distribution Centre uses four Combilift C4000 EST electric stand-on trucks to handle over 250 miles of tube and pipe across 600+ product lines. Operating 24/5 to supply 62 branches, the trucks work in narrow 1.8m aisles and lift to 9.5m, maximising space across 2,353 picking locations.
One of Combilift’s largest capacity models to date – a 28t capacity Straddle Carrier (Combi-SC) – is now in operation at Caledonian Modular’s site in Newark near Nottingham, ensuring much more efficient and safe transportation of finished modules from the manufacturing facilities to the storage yards.
Ferguson Modular in North East Scotland now uses a Combilift Straddle Carrier to safely and efficiently handle accommodation modules, replacing cranes and forklifts. The new system cuts lift times from over an hour to minutes, reduces manpower needs, and avoids weather-related delays.
Frank H. Dale has streamlined loading with a 35t Combilift Straddle Carrier, cutting forklift movements and improving safety. The Combi-SC handles irregular steel loads efficiently, stores materials when projects are delayed, and allows quick trailer loading, reducing shift times from hours to under one.
James Latham now runs around 50 Combilift 4-way forklifts across its 10 UK depots, including six new 4t models at its Leeds site. Replacing older sideloaders and counterbalance trucks, the switch improved storage and handling, with Leeds achieving 39% more capacity by racking to 9.3m and using guided aisles in a smaller footprint.
Keyo Agricultural Services has added 12 Combi-RT forklifts to support poultry handling at Hook 2 Sisters’ Foxhills plant. Designed with Combilift for low-stress, efficient live bird transport, the RTs have proven highly reliable. Keyo now operates 46 units, replacing older forklifts to meet the demands of handling up to 2.4 million birds weekly.
Cheshire Mouldings has boosted storage capacity by 50% since switching to Combilift trucks. The latest addition a C3000 Combi-ST stand-on model allows aisle widths as narrow as 2.1m, doubling usable space in parts of the warehouse. Products like stair parts and handrails are now stored up to 6.8m high, effectively turning 8,000ft² into 16,000ft². The 4-way functionality and guided aisle system improve handling, safety, and efficiency.
