May 2025, Hannover – At the forefront of material handling innovation, Combilift has once again raised the bar with the debut of its latest breakthrough: the Combi Load Xtender. Launched at Ligna 2025, this revolutionary pantograph-style load extender is designed to transform how businesses manage truck and container loading, especially in tight, space-restricted environments.
This week saw a landmark celebration at Combilift’s global headquarters in Monaghan, marking the 10th anniversary of the highly successful OEM Engineering Traineeship—a collaborative initiative between Combilift and the Cavan and Monaghan Education and Training Board (CMETB). The event, which welcomed past graduates, current trainees and local educators, underscored the programme’s evolution from a local skills initiative to a cornerstone of regional industrial development.
Combilift has expanded its electric sideloader offering with the launch of the Combi-FSE 8000, an 8-tonne capacity, four-wheel electric model built for high-capacity, emission-free handling of long and bulky loads.
Combilift has secured its third Red Dot Design Award win with the Combi-CB70E, a newly launched 7-ton electric multidirectional counterbalance forklift created to tackle heavy-duty, long-load handling with a stronger focus on sustainability.
BSS Industrial’s National Distribution Centre uses four Combilift C4000 EST electric stand-on trucks to handle over 250 miles of tube and pipe across 600+ product lines. Operating 24/5 to supply 62 branches, the trucks work in narrow 1.8m aisles and lift to 9.5m, maximising space across 2,353 picking locations.
One of Combilift’s largest capacity models to date – a 28t capacity Straddle Carrier (Combi-SC) – is now in operation at Caledonian Modular’s site in Newark near Nottingham, ensuring much more efficient and safe transportation of finished modules from the manufacturing facilities to the storage yards.
Ferguson Modular in North East Scotland now uses a Combilift Straddle Carrier to safely and efficiently handle accommodation modules, replacing cranes and forklifts. The new system cuts lift times from over an hour to minutes, reduces manpower needs, and avoids weather-related delays.
