INTERMODAL STRADDLE CARRIER

Combilift has introduced the Combi-IMSC Intermodal Straddle Carrier, specifically developed to meet the unique needs of inland container terminals. These terminals, while handling lower container volumes than major sea ports, still require robust and efficient equipment capable of performing the same critical lifting and transport tasks.

The Combi-IMSC offers a more compact and economical alternative to conventional port straddle carriers, which are typically much larger, higher, and built for high-speed, high-volume operations. Many inland terminals only deal with a limited number of train arrivals per day, making large port equipment unnecessarily costly and inefficient for their scale of operations.

By focusing on a cost-effective, customisable design, Combilift’s Intermodal Straddle Carrier ensures that operators at smaller or midsized intermodal hubs can still benefit from reliable container handling solutions without compromising on performance or flexibility. Its reduced size, lower capital and operational costs, and tailored build make it especially well-suited to terminals where space is at a premium and operating margins are tight.
